A Walk Through Castroville, TX

After the solar eclipse, we had the rest of the day in Castroville, TX. We had rented an Air BNB there and were spending an additional night there (post eclipse) to avoid some of the traffic. The Air BNB had a map that said, “walking tour,” so JoAnna and I went for a walk around town.

The eclipse was cloudy for us, so we saw a little peek through the clouds and the darkness at totality.

We stopped along the river and looked for wildlife. There, we found a ton of turtles and a few fish, though I couldn’t see what kind.

A little hard to see, but there are at least three turtles in this image.

Overall, it was a pleasant walk along the bridge and over the river. They were repairing the dam under the bridge, so we got to see a little of that.

Lots of lilly pads

I will talk more about the historic buildings in a different blog later this week.

Thank you for reading my post.
